Over 500 years ago, in 1497, John Cabot and his crew
set sail for Asia in The Matthew from Bristol,
only to discover North America.

Work started in February 1994 to build a replica,
and after sailing to Newfoundland in 1997
she returned to Bristol and seen here
beneath Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge.
